Funny man McIntyre to host Royal Variety Performance 2010

Hilarious comedian Michael McIntyre has been announced as this year’s host for the Royal Variety Performance. McIntyre, 34, has performed at the Royal event twice before, both in 2006 and 2008.

McIntyre says: “I got my big break at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006 and returned in 2008, but now to host it is such an honour and I’m unbelievably excited.

“The Queen and Prince Charles alternate their attendance. This year, [as] on both of my previous appearances, I will be performing for Prince Charles. I can’t wait to entertain him for a third time, although it does seem obvious that the Queen is avoiding me!”

The show will be aired in December and will host a variety of talents and acts. You can currently see Michael on his Comedy Roadshow on the BBC, or buy one of his side splitting DVDs.
